Casa Marina Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton

FF&E Procurement Within a Historic Oceanfront Landmark

Originally opened in the 1920s, Casa Marina stands as one of Key West’s most recognized beachfront properties. With the island’s largest private beach and a century of history, the hotel blends Old Key West character with contemporary hospitality standards. Following a comprehensive renovation, the property reintroduced reimagined guest rooms, restored public areas, enhanced food and beverage venues, and expanded event programming along the oceanfront.

Our scope included FF&E procurement for public areas, model rooms, and guest rooms. The project required structured coordination within a historically significant landmark while aligning with Curio Collection brand standards and the expectations of a luxury beachfront destination.

Model rooms were prioritized to confirm finish selections, scale, and installation sequencing before full guest room rollout. Early validation minimized risk and ensured that furnishings complemented both the property’s architectural heritage and the refreshed design direction.

This phase provided ownership with clarity and confidence prior to broader production release.

Guest room procurement focused on aligning classic coastal character with modern durability and comfort. Casegoods, seating, lighting, and soft goods were sourced to support a serene, contemporary environment while performing reliably in a high humidity beachfront climate.

Detailed specification review, vendor management, and production tracking protected schedule integrity and budget alignment throughout the phased renovation.

Public space procurement required equal precision. The reimagined lobby, food and beverage venues, and oceanfront gathering areas demanded furnishings that respected the property’s historic identity while supporting modern operational needs.

Large scale public environments introduce complexity in freight coordination, installation sequencing, and finish protection. Structured oversight ensured delivery alignment across multiple venue types, including the expanded oceanfront event lawn and restored activity piers.

Supporting a Century Old Icon Through Structured Execution

Historic beachfront assets carry heightened expectations. Properties with decades of legacy, architectural significance, and brand recognition must evolve without losing the character that defines them. Renovations in these environments require careful balance. Original detailing, scale, and materiality must be respected, while guest expectations for comfort, technology, and modern finishes continue to advance.

In a coastal setting, complexity increases further. Environmental conditions, humidity exposure, and high seasonal occupancy place additional performance demands on furnishings and finishes. Procurement strategy must therefore account not only for design intent, but also for durability, freight logistics, phased installation, and the protection of restored architectural elements.

The result is a property that honors its century of history while presenting a refined, contemporary guest experience. Casa Marina now reflects an intentional balance of heritage and modern hospitality, supported by structured procurement processes that safeguarded timeline, investment, and reputation with confidence.
