Montage Big Sky, Montana Luxury Resort

FF&E and OS&E Procurement for a Luxury Alpine Resort

Set within Montana’s Spanish Peaks mountain range and just 45 minutes from Yellowstone National Park, Montage Big Sky offers a luxury resort experience defined by ski-in, ski-out access and expansive alpine landscapes. The property combines contemporary mountain design with the warmth of natural materials, creating an environment that feels both refined and connected to its surroundings.

Our scope included FF&E procurement for model rooms, guest rooms across multiple accommodation types, public spaces, and full OS&E services. The project encompassed guestrooms, suites, and private residences distributed across three distinct settings—The Lodge, The Inn, and the Mountain Homes.

Model rooms played an important role in confirming finishes, furniture scale, and layout functionality before full production began. In a project of this size and complexity, early validation helped ensure alignment across design teams, ownership, and suppliers.

The model phase allowed for refinement of specifications and material selections so that the final rollout maintained both the design vision and the operational standards expected of a luxury resort.

Guest rooms and suites at Montage Big Sky were designed to reflect the resort’s contemporary alpine character while providing the comfort expected in a luxury mountain destination. Furnishings and fixtures were sourced to complement the natural palette of wood, stone, and warm textures that define the property’s interior design. Each selection needed to support both visual harmony with the surrounding landscape and the performance standards required in a four-season resort environment.

Material durability and finish consistency were key considerations. Guest rooms must accommodate steady turnover while maintaining the sense of refinement that guests associate with a Montage stay. Through careful specification review and coordination with suppliers, furnishings were delivered ready for installation and aligned with the design vision across a range of room and suite layouts.

The private residences at Montage Big Sky offer a more expansive, residential-style experience while maintaining the same connection to the surrounding mountains. These accommodations required furnishings scaled for larger living spaces, including living rooms, dining areas, and extended-stay amenities.

Sourcing focused on pieces that felt residential in comfort yet consistent with the resort’s overall design language. Natural materials, layered finishes, and thoughtful proportions helped create interiors that feel welcoming and relaxed after a day on the mountain. Coordination with vendors ensured that furnishings across the residences maintained visual continuity with the guest rooms and suites while supporting the functionality expected in a luxury residential setting within the resort.

Public areas throughout the resort were furnished to support a variety of experiences, from quiet lounge spaces to lively social settings. These spaces serve as gathering points for guests returning from outdoor activities, dining, or exploring the surrounding mountains.

Furniture and decorative elements were sourced to complement the architecture while providing comfort and resilience in a high-use resort environment. Deliveries were timed to align with construction progress and installation schedules, helping maintain the overall project timeline.

Bringing a Luxury Mountain Destination to Life

Luxury resorts depend on both atmosphere and reliability. Guests are drawn by the setting and the promise of an elevated experience, but that experience must feel effortless once they arrive. Spaces must look beautiful while also supporting the rhythm of daily resort life, from early mornings on the slopes to relaxed afternoons and evenings spent gathering with family and friends. Furnishings, finishes, and equipment all play a role in creating environments that feel welcoming, comfortable, and dependable.

In a destination like Big Sky, the surrounding landscape becomes part of the guest experience. Interiors are expected to reflect the character of the mountains while still offering the comfort and refinement associated with a luxury brand. Materials must feel authentic to the setting, yet perform well under the demands of a four-season resort. Thoughtful sourcing and close coordination with vendors helped ensure that furnishings aligned with the design intent while meeting durability and installation requirements.

The completed Montage Big Sky reflects that balance between natural beauty and operational readiness. Guest rooms, suites, residences, and public spaces share a consistent design language that connects them to the Montana landscape. At the same time, each space functions as it should, supporting both the daily needs of guests and the long-term performance of the resort. Careful planning and procurement helped translate the original design vision into a finished environment that welcomes visitors from around the world while honoring the character of its alpine setting.
